Betting on the government's digitisation programme, the Indian arm of Kyocera Document is aiming at about 3-fold growth to over Rs 400 crore in sales by 2018 through rapid expansion.
"We are expecting to grow our revenue to Rs 412 crore by 2018 from about Rs 150 crore at present. We will be expanding our product portfolio by adding 39 new products focused on lowering cost of print and low energy consumption," Kyocera Document Solutions India, General Manager Lalit Chaturvedi told PTI.
He said the forthcoming product portfolio will add new segment and increase market opportunity.
"We have patent technology which enables our product work at about one-third less energy compared to competition. Through this we are looking to reach out at places that face power shortage. We are also doubling our retail outlets from 200 at present to 400 by 2018," Chaturvedi said.
Gradually small cities will develop and turn into big markets, he said, adding, "retail outlet presence in those cities from the beginning will help us in cashing opportunity".
Kyocera claims to have 12 per cent market share in monochrome printers and 4 per cent in colour segment. It expects to reach 20 per cent market share in monochrome and 10 per cent in colour segment by 2018.
Talking about growth drivers, he said that company is eyeing government's plan to digitise content and also changing its strategy for enterprise segment.
"Government plans to move digital is an obvious growth driver. In enterprise segment, everyone is moving from capex (capital expenditure) to opex model," Chaturvedi said.
"We are asking customers don't buy our machines, pay us as per use. We are also in talks with some banks to arrange finance for enterprise grade machines," he added.
