Additional District Judge (ADJ) Vinod Goel granted 15 days time to accused Santoshanand Avadhuta's counsel Ashwani Kumar Bali, who was recently appointed as the amicus curiae by the court, and fixed September 10 for commencement of final arguments in the case.

Bali filed an application saying the record of the case is voluminous and he should be granted 15 days time to prepare and defend the case effectively on behalf of Santoshanand.

The counsel said he was "totally blank" today and if the arguments are addressed by the prosecutor, he will not be able to understand anything in the matter and Santoshanand will be "grossly prejudiced."

The court postponed the final arguments and made it clear that no further adjournment would be granted. (more)
