L N Mittal to attend St Xavier's University inauguration

Steel magnate Lakshmi Niwas Mittal would attend the inauguration of St Xavier's University at New Town on July eight this year in which West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee would also be present.

Announcing this here today, university Vice-chancellor Felix Raj said that Mittal, a former student of St Xavier's College, had consented to be

present at the inauguration of the university.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee would also be present, he said.

To start with the university would offer courses in B.Com, BBA, English honours and MSW.

In the subsequent year, the university would start MBA course, he said.

West Bengal would be the second place in India to have a Jesuit university, the first being Bhubaneshwar.
 

He said that first phase of the infrastructure was fully complete and work was going on for the remaining phase.
