Larsen & Toubro bags Rs 1,630-cr contract in Uttar Pradesh

The project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months

Engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 1,630 crore from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) for the construction of a six-lane access controlled expressway in the state.

The company's transportation infrastructure business has received the Rs 1,630 crore EPC order for constructing a six- lane access controlled expressway from Unnao district to Lucknow, a release issued here said.

L&T's scope of work includes design, engineering and construction of the 63km-long expressway, including the construction of service roads.

The contract also includes major structures like 18 vehicular under passes, four major bridges, 10 minor bridges, 26 pedestrian underpasses, one trumpet interchange and associated works.
 

The project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.

"This project is likely to spur economic development along the route with trade, agricultural and economic corridors proposed at different places. In addition, it will reduce travel time between Lucknow and the National Capital Region (NCR) via the functional Agra-Greater Noida Yamuna Expressway," the release said.
