L&T commissions 225MW plant in Bangladesh

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has commissioned a 225 MW power plant in Bangladesh.

"L&T has successfully commissioned and handed over the state-of-the-art 225 MW Sikalbaha Combined Cycle Power Plant to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for commercial operation," the company said in a statement.

The power plant, located near the port city of Chittagong in southeastern Bangladesh, was inaugurated on Sunday by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Work on the project started in April 2015 and the power plant was partly commissioned in Open Cycle in May, it said.
