Labourer dies, 2 injured during demolition drive

A labourer died and two others were injured today during demolition of part of an old building near the Durgiana temple here, police said.

In an ongoing beautification project, a part of the four-storeyed building was being demolished but during the process the building collapsed, police said.

Three labourers, who were working on the fourth floor of the building also came under debris and as a result one died while two others were injured and admitted to a local hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Gursewak Singh, resident of village Harsha Chhina here, police said, adding the injured were declared out of danger in the hospital.
