Labourer electrocuted in Raj

A 21-year-old labourer was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with high tension power lines in Kheda Rasulpur area in the district following which his family and villagers blocked the road placing his body in the middle of it, police said today.

Rakesh Bairwa, a resident of Gandhigali village and a daily wage labour, while working on top of the roof of an under-construction building, last evening came in contact with the power lines passing over head, said Dhanraj Singh, SHO Kaithun police station.

He was shifted to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital where he died during treatment, he said.
 

The family members and villagers, demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, placed his body on the road and blocked traffic at Raipura circle of Kaitun town for over an hour.

The traffic resumed after Bhawani Singh Rajawat, MLA from Ladpura area of Kota city assured appropriate compensation from the state government and power company.

A case under section 174 of CrPC was lodged in this connection, said the SHO adding no complaint against the power company or the constructor has been received.
