A labourer was run over in his sleep by a vehicle at Burmamines of the steel city here in the early hours today, police said.
The victim was sleeping on the pavement near Tube company gate when the unidentified vehicle mounted and knocked him down in the wee hours as the driver lost control, police said.
However, it then fled from the spot.
On being informed, Burmamines police rushed to the spot and recovered the body before sending it to M G M Hospital, police said.
