A labourer was washed away in the Chenab river after slipping into it at the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
Other labourers raised an alarm when 25-year-old Parvez Ahmed slipped into the Chenab and was washed away by the strong current last evening.
Extensive search by police and a special team, however, failed to find the labourer. The search is still on.
