The head of the Versace fashion house and the singing superstar became friends when Gaga brought her 'Born This Way' Ball tour to Milan, Italy earlier this week and entertained the designer at the company's headquarters in the city.

Versace thanked her new friend by lending her a string of stunning gowns, including the infamous safety pin dress which catapulted Elizabeth Hurley to fame in 1994, reported Sun online.

The singer showed her fans how close the pair had become by sharing a snap of the duo posing for a picture. The singer covers her chest with her arm.

The blonde duo made Gaga's trademark 'monster claw' with their hands as they gazed into the camera. It appeared the singer was wearing a leather outfit that she'd decided to roll down to her waist.

The snap was taken by celebrity photographer Terry Richardson at Paris Fashion Week.
