Returning to action after a five-week lay off, Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri rounded off a weather-stricken week with a four-under 67 to finish Tied-24th at the Porsche European Open, which was reduced to 54 holes, here.
Lahiri, who did not get to start his second round till second half of Saturday, had five birdies and an eagle and three bogeys in his 67. That took him 10-under 203 for 54 holes.
It was Lahiri's first appearance on the regular European Tour programme since his second place finish at the Hero Indian Open at home in March. After that, he was busy with the Majors, WGC, Olympic Games and the PGA Tour, where he managed to keep his card for 2017.
The Tied-24 was also his second best result on the European Tour this season.
Lahiri birdied third, sixth, 12th, 15th and 18th and eagled the 10th. He bogeyed fourth, eighth and 14th.
The other Indian in the field, SSP Chawrasia, who beat Lahiri in their last meeting in Hero Indian Open in March, missed the cut.
At the top, Frenchman Alexander Levy, who shot 62-63 on the par-71 course in first two rounds, and started the final round four shots clear of second placed Michael Jonzon. Ross Fisher was five behind Levy at the start.
Levy then had a tough fight on his hands in closing stages. Though both Levy and Fisher had seven birdies each, Levy bogeyed twice on front nine and twice on back nine. In contrast Fisher was error free.
When the final group came to 18th tee, Levy was 20-under, Fisher was 19-under and Jonzon was 17-under. On the 18th hole, Levy bogeyed and fell to 19-under but Fisher missed his birdie putt and stayed at 19-under.
Jonzon bogeyed and ended tied-third at 16-under with Robert Karlsson. Levy and Fisher were in a play-off.
