Police today released sketches of four suspects in connection with the over Rs 8 crore heist here and questioned over 200 people in and around the national capital but failed to make any breakthrough in the sensational case.

However, police officials claimed that the role of an "insider" has emerged in the case. It has also been learnt that the robbers spoke in Haryanvi dialect following which a series of raids have been carried out in Haryana.

Investigators said that other than probing yesterday's robbery near busy Lajpat Nagar area in south Delhi, they are also inquiring the source of the money. They are investigating a possible hawala trail in the case.

Based on the description provided by the victims and police informers, the four sketches were circulated among sleuths working on the case and police forces of neighbouring states.

Police called Rajesh Kalra, whose name had also cropped up as a bookie in the 2000 Hansie Cronje match fixing case, and his partner Gurgaon-based businessman Rahul Ahuja, to whom the cash apparently belonged.

While Kalra joined the investigation, Ahuja did not reach the Special Staff office at Madangir. There are also apprehensions that the looted amount could be well more than what has been reported.

Kalra and all the five employees, including Ahuja's manager Rakesh Kumar, who were in the car at the time of the incident, were questioned about the source of the money and the robbery itself, police sources said.

Police has also found that the Honda City car which was robbed of with the money was tailed by another three employees Sandeep, his relative Ravinder and gunman Brijesh in an I-20 car. However, this car was held up at a traffic signal.

During questioning, Sandeep's version of events has been found contradictory and he is under police scanner.

Investigators have also learnt that Ahuja's manager, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, who was present in the Honda City car along with four associates when the robbery took place had employed and then subsequently fired some youths in the last couple of months.

They had prepared a list of all the present and former employees of both Rahul Ahuja and his partner Rakesh Kalra and they are either already being questioned or efforts are on to track and interrogate them.
