The district authorities today approved a plan to renovate and give a face-lift to the famous Lalbagh Palace here, belonging to the erstwhile Holkar Empire.
In the meeting chaired by Indore Divisional Commissioner, Sanjay Dubey, it was decided that without damaging the original structure of the palace, it would be renovated and beautified for tourists, a government statement said.
It was also decided that in order to give some historical information related to the palace an audio programme would be prepared and made available to tourists visiting the place, it added.
During the meeting a decision was taken to construct a boundary wall around the palace and take appropriate steps to stop the decay of walls and ceilings.
