Bihar BJP today alleged that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had bargained for a Legislative Council berth for his eldest daughter Misa Bharti in a trade off for support to the JD(U) government, even as the RJD rubbished the allegation.

"The RJD's support to the JD(U) and its government in Bihar has come at a cost under which Prasad's eldest daughter Misa Bharti will be sent to the Legislative Council," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi told reporters here.

However, he did not elaborate the allegation.

The RJD had supported the Manjhi government during the trust vote last month and bailed out the ruling party in the bypolls to two Rajya Sabha seats in which JD(U)'s Pavan Kumar Verma and Gulam Rasool Baliyawi scraped through over independent candidates Anil Sharma and Sabir Ali with crucial support by RJD's 19 MLAs in favour of ruling party nominees.

However, RJD Legislature Party leader in the Assembly Abdul Bari Siddique rubbished the allegation.

"The BJP leader is frustrated after the RJD extended support and voted for the ruling party candidates in the Rajya Sabha bypoll foiling his designs to destabilise the JD(U)," Siddique told PTI here.

The RJD leader said his party had backed the JD(U) government more out of ideological convergence than any political benefits.

Siddique asked the BJP leader to refrain from affairs of other parties.
