Prasad's description of a BJP member, which was expunged by the Chair, saw the Opposition party up in arms, wanting him to withdraw his comments.

The provocation was a comment from BJP member from Andaman and Nicobar, Bishnupad Ray that Prasad's party was hand in glove with the government on the issue.

Worried over the uproar paralysing the proceedings, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath appealed to Prasad and other members not to use provocative language.

As he refused to do so, Deputy Speaker Karia Munda adjourned the House for 10 minutes. When the House reassembled, Prasad withdrew his words saying he came to know that it was unparliamentary.

Prasad, later made it clear that his party was fully with the government on the issue as it believed that reform measures would help Indian farmers and felt that Opposition was raising a hue and cry due to the fact that elections are not far away.
