NBA star Lamar Odom has been formally charged with diving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, two weeks after he was pulled over and arrested.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's office charged the 33-year-old basketballer with one misdemeanour count of driving under the influence.
Prosecutors have not revealed specific details of what Odom was under the influence of, reported TMZ online.
The husband of reality star Khloe Kardashian will face court later this month with his arraignment scheduled for September 27.
The charges stem from Odom's August 30 arrest. Officers from the Californian Highway Patrol pulled over the former LA Lakers star's Mercedes-Benz on the 101 freeway in the San Fernando Valley, California, at 4am.
Officers claim the star was driving well below the speed limit and in a 'serpentine manner'.
Odom reportedly initially refused a field sobriety test, then failed it and was held at Van Nuys police station before being released later that day on USD 15,000 bail.
Odom is now facing six months in jail and a USD 1,000 fine if convicted.
For the last month there has been increased speculation that Odom has abused drugs and the basketball pro is allegedly battling an addiction to crack cocaine.
There has also been allegations that he had cheated on Khloe with multiple women.
