Air and land battle drills are being conducted in the ongoing military exercise 'Vijay Prahar' at the Mahajan field firing ranges near Suratgarh in Rajasthan, a defence official said today.

The offensive exercise of the Indian Army started on May 1 and will culminate on May 9. Over 20,000 troops of strike formations of the south western command are engaged in it to fine tune jointmanship with the air force.

"Aircrafts are flying from far away bases, coordinating with ground forces while flying at supersonic speeds and achieving coordination," defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.

He said the level of coordination achieved during the exercise has given a lot of confidence both to the army and air force.
