Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced abolition of land ceiling for purchase of tractors by farmers under subsidised scheme.
Launching the State level Welfare Scheme for Women, registered with Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at function at Khad village in Una district, Chief Minister also announced another scheme of paying one- time tax for purchase of tractor for agricultural purposeby the farmers.
He said the ceiling of 20 kanals of land for purchase of tractors under subsidised scheme has been abolished to benefit larger number of farmers and also announced waiver of arrears of taxes due towards tractor owners.

He also announced Helipad and PHC at Beetan in Haroli.
Chief Minister said the Congress Party believed in overall development and was committed to balanced and uniform development of all regions, rising above the narrow considerations.
Virbhadra Singh said that under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna, (PMGSY) or any other Central scheme, it was obligatory for Union government to provide State's share for development.
He stressed that the state government had right to lay foundation stones of centrally sponsored schemes and also to inaugurate the schemes as the land belongs to the state government, and the central governmentcan claim ownership of land in Union Territories and not in full-fledged states.
Speaking about BCCI President and BJP Leader Anurag Thakur, Singh said it was the duty of the Union government to ensure progress of the states and asked Thakur to work for strengthening Centre-State relations.
The Chief Minister said Thakur, instead of concentrating on inaugurations and taking credit for the projects, he should rather fight for and take up the matter regarding release of funds for the Swan River Channelisation, which was withheld by Union Government since long.
He said that if Thakur was a true benefactor of the people of the area, he should take up the pending works and grants which were hanging at different levels in union ministries.
Singh welcomed the recommendation of Lodha Committee against the office bearers of the State Cricket Associations holding office of profit and on the administrative body of Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI).
The Chief Minister said he welcomes the central government's demonetisation decision but sought urgent steps for making the new Rs 2,000 notes compatible with ATMs.
Calling for complete wipe-out of black money, Singh said the Union Government should have worked on all 'ifs and buts' before introducing the new currency notes and should have handled other technicalities which were now posing problems to the people.
