Land for railway wagon factory at Guwahati identified: Govt

Work on setting up of wagon manufacturing factory there was sanctioned in 2010-11 at a cost of about Rs 1.88 crore in Public-Private Partnership mode, Minister of State for Railways Bharatsinh Solanki said during Question Hour.

"Land for the factory has been identified and the business model has been finalised. Government approval for leasing of Railway land to the private partner is being sought," he said.

Regarding a railway bridge on the river Brahmaputra, Solanki said the work would be completed by 2015.

He said 522 hospitals and diagnostics centres were proposed to be set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on surplus Railway land.
