Senior BJP leader Sushil Modi today came out with another allegation against RJD president Lalu Prasad's family, claiming that Raghunath Jha was made a minister in the UPA-1 government in return to his gift to Prasad - a land and a building on it.

RJD quickly retaliated accusing Modi of helping his brother R K Modi succeed in his business when the former was Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar in NDA rule.

In his latest salvo, Modi told a press conference that the RJD chief had recommended RJD MP Raghunath Jha's name to become a minister in UPA-1.

But he became Union minister of state for heavy industries only after he had gifted his three-storied house along with the land in Gopalganj, valued not less than Rs 15 crore today, in the name of Prasad's sons Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, Modi claimed.

The opposition leader in Legislative Council showed a deed purportedly of the 'gifting' of property.

Raghunath Jha was a JD(U) MP from Gopalganj who joined RJD to successfully contest from Bettiah in 2004 and became a minister in the Manmohan Singh government the next year.

"Tejaswi and Tej Pratap Yadav were 15 and 16-year-olds when the property was gifted in their name," Modi said.

In retaliation, RJD national spokesman Manoj Jha too addressed a press conference and alleged that the fortune of businessman R K Modi soared with his brother Sushil Modi becoming deputy chief minister of Bihar.

Sushil Modi, however, said that he had no links with the business of his brother.
