An Andhra Pradesh minister today submitted documents to an SIT and claimed land grabbers mortgaged government plots and raised Rs 190 crore from banks.
Minister for Roads and Building Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu submitted the documents to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged land scam in Visakhapatnam district.
Talking to reporters, he said land grabbers fraudulently mortgaged government plots with banks and raised Rs 190 crore as loans.

The team was formed by the state government after the scam came to light a few months ago.
Patrudu said the SIT has got some leads and it would submit a comprehensive report on tampering with land records and those who benefited from the scam.
"The SIT head Vineet Brijlal is an honest and efficient officer and he will certainly expose those involved in the scam," the minister said.
"I suspect that over 1,700 acres of land, held by private and government entities, have been encroached in the city and other parts of the district," he said..
"I will meet the SIT officials again on July 19 to submit some more documents regarding the scam," Patrudu said.
