Land records of over 1,000 villages computerised in Jammu

Out of the 2,150 villages of 13 tehsils, which are under consideration in Jammu division, the computerisation process of land records of 1,183 villages has been completed, Director Land Records, Ali Asgar Choudhary said.

"Out of these Record of Rights (RORs) of 851 villages have been deposited in the Record Room, Jammu," he said.

Under the land records programme, concerned authorities have initiated a landmapping project using the Electronic Total Station (ETS) technique and plans are afoot to also use satellite images and aerial pictures for this purpose later.
