This was being done to maintain transparency in land records, said district magistrate Aparna Upadhyay said after a meeting with concerned officials today.
After the records were placed online, Upadhyay said, the Lekhpal or any other official would not be permitted to make any changes without the permission of the land owner.
The process to put all the land related records online would be completed soon and land transfer work would be completed only after the approval of the land owner, she said.
Asking the people to contact her in case of any ownership related dispute over transfer of land, the DM said that fake transfer of land will be treated as an offence now. PTI Corr KAS
