Landmark Leisure plans to invest Rs 1,200 cr in next 5 yrs

Dubai-based Landmark Group's entertainment arm Landmark Leisure is planning to invest around Rs 1,200 crore to increase the number of its Fun City entertainment centres to 100 in India over the next 5 years.

At present, the company has 19 Fun City centres in the country.

"Landmark Leisure will expand presence of Fun City entertainment centres from current 19 to 100 over in next 5 years in India... Our per store investment will be in the range of 15-20 crore," Landmark Leisure COO Silvio Liedtke told PTI.

Established in 1999 in the Middle East, Fun City runs franchises in nine different countries and India is one of its key markets, Landmark Leisure said in a statement.
 

When asked about the locations the company is looking at for expansion, Liedtke said: "We will be adding more centres in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, where we are already present."

In addition, the company is also looking to enter new cities such as Kolkata, Bhopal and Surat, among others, he added.

"Fun City is aiming for a 15 per cent share of the total amusement park and family entertainment market which is currently worth 2,000 crore in India, over next 5 years," Citymax President Vishal Kapur said.

Fun City operations in India are overseen by Citymax India.
