Left parties today said their landslide victory in Tripura urban local bodies elections "reaffirmed" the people's support to policies of the state government led by CPI(M).
"The politburo hails the sweeping victory of CPI (M) and Left Front in the Tripura urban bodies elections. The politburo greets the people of Tripura for this fulsome support. It conveys its congratulations to all the cadres and activists of CPI (M) and the Front," CPI (M) said in a statement.
The party noted that the victory shows urban people have "reaffirmed" their support to policies of the CPI(M)-led government in Tripura" just as" the rural population had earlier.
