Lanka prez meets visiting Pak foreign secretary

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena today met visiting Pakistani Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua as part of bilateral political talks between the two nations.

Janjua is on a two-day visit here to take part in the fifth round of bilateral consultations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The fourth round of talks was held in 2014 in Islamabad.

"Glad to meet the Pakistani Foreign Secretary. Look forward to further consolidate the relationship between the two countries," a tweet from Sirisena said.

She is also due to call on Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana.

Janjua also met her Sri Lankan counterpart Prasad Kariyawasam for consultations, the foreign ministry here said.
