Lankan Vice Admiral in Kochi

Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval command, Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, today held discussions with Sri Lanka Navy Chief Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera.

The Sri Lankan Navy chief, who arrived here yesterday, is on a three-day visit to Kochi.

The two vice admirals held discussions on subjects of interest to both the navies that could have bearing on the regional maritime security, a naval press release said.

During his visit to Kochi, the Lankan Navy chief familiarised himself with the training facilities of Southern Naval Command and interacted with the Sri Lankan trainees at a private function.
 

The vice admiral is accompanied by his wife Shalika Perera, President of Sri Lankan Navy Seva Vanitha.

He visited Visakhapatnam prior to arriving at Kochi.
