The West Bengal CID today seized a large cache of arms and ammunition from Kalyani area in Nadia district and arrested five persons in this connection.
Altogether, 10 firearms, a large number of bullets and socket bombs were seized from the Saguna Lichutala locality in Kalyani, CID officials said.
Bomb-making materials were also seized, they added.
Acting on a tip-off, the CID sleuths nabbed five persons from near Kalyani Correctional Home. After interrogating them, they raided Saguna Lichutala and seized the arms and ammunition, the officials said.
Three motorbikes were also seized by the CID, they added.
