A large cache of arms was seized from the bus stand at Baharampur, the headquarter town of West Bengal's Murshidabad district, and a person was arrested in connection with it.
The police seized seven pistols, two pipeguns and 150 cartridges from the man, who hails from Tehatta in neighbouring Nadia district, last night following a tip off.
Police said the man had come to sell the arms to some person and investigation is on to find out his connection in Murshidabad, which is a border district.
Murshidabad superintendent of police Sri Mukesh confirming this said the man was produced at a local court today and was remanded to seven days in police custody.
