Large explosive haul in anti-naxal raid in Jharkhand

Some naxals were also present, but they managed to escape, the police said

Security personnel on Sunday seized a large haul of explosives during an anti-naxal operation in Bulbul and Kerar villages of Lohardaga district, police said.

Acting on a tip off, security personnel, comprising District Police force, Jaguar and Kobra battalion conducted search operation and recovered four Pressure cooker improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Tiffin box IED, generator from near Dhurva Nala in Bulbul, Superintendent of Police, Karthik S said.

The explosives have been defused, he said adding that a motorcycle was also seized.

Police had information that some naxals, including Ravindra Ganju, Balram Oraon Deepak Singh Kherwar and Chandan Kherwar were also present, but managed to escape, Karthik added.
