'Arirang' (2011) and 'Pieta' (2012) by South Korean director Duk, 'Amour,' the Palme d'Or winner at Cannes this year by Haneke, 'Caesar Must Die' (Italy/2012) by Taviani brothers and 'Me and You' by Bertolucci will be the major attractions at the festival, sources at Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, organisers of the event said.
Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children', based on the celebrated novel by Salman Rushdie, would also have a special premiere at at the festival.
Several films released this year, including 'After The Battle' (Egypt) by Yousry Nasrallah, 'Angels Share' (Ken Loach/UK/France), 'Expiation' (Aleksandr Prshkin/Russia), 'Forbela' (Vincente Alves do O'/Portugal), 'Four Suns' (Bohdan Slama/Czech), 'Le Havre' (Aki Kaurismaki/Finland), 'Like Someone in Love' (Abbas Kiarostami/France/Japan), 'My Tribe' (Gholamreza Azadi/Iran), 'Night Across the Street' (Raoul Ruiz/Chile) and 'Rhino Season' (Iran/Turkey) by Bahman Ghobadi would be a part of the IFFK world cinema section.
'Beyond the Hills' (Cristian Mungiu/Romania), Mystery' (Ye Lou/China), 'When I saw you' (Annemarie Jacir/Palestine), 'Seven Days in Havana,' the Spanish film jointly done by six directors and 'Omar Killed Me' (Roschdy Zem/France/ Morocco) would be some of the other latest movies to be screened.
The number of delegates had been limited to 7,000 this year and the registration would continue till November 20 on first-cum-first serve basis, the sources said.
