Congress leader Ashok Gehlot Monday targeted Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje claiming law and order had suffered while corruption was rampant under her rule in the state.
The former chief minister, who is a Congress general secretary, challenged Raje to list at least five achievements from her two tenures as chief minister.
Gehlot alleged that crores of rupees were wasted in the name of event management. He demanded that Raje inform the people on how much investment came to the state as a result of Resurgent Rajasthan summit in 2015.
"She took decisions in arrogance. Ever since the formation of the government, she worked in a vindictive manner with a negative approach. Law and order situation worsened under her rule. She took out a Gaurav Yatra, but her departure has been decided, Gehlot claimed at a press conference here.
The Congress leader alleged rapes of minors had taken place while criminals were roaming scot free. Taking a jibe, he said the police were serious when a relative of an officer was murdered in the city.
He also targeted Raje's principal secretary, an IAS officer, saying he used to give instructions to other officers and exercised a crucial control over the governance.
The former chief minister said the government spent crores of rupees in the name of event management and alleged that Raje was focussed just on a few departments like mining, energy and others.
He alleged there was "loot in these departments during Raje's rule".
"All the developmental works, infrastructure works were started during the Congress rule. The chief minister should list at least five achievements of her two tenures in the state, he said.
Gehlot also accused chief minister Raje of "misleading" people on the issue of the Barmer oil refinery.
