Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the SAD-BJP alliance government was committed for maintaining the law and order situation in Punjab, which he termed as one of the most peaceful state in the country.

Maintaining communal harmony, peace and amity in Punjab has been the topmost priority of the state government, he said at a religious congregation here to mark the 90th birth anniversary of Jain Saint Sri Hem Kunwar Ji Maharaj.

Despite being a border state, Punjab has remained peaceful in SAD-BJP tenure, he said.

Not a single incident of communal violence has been witnessed in Punjab during the SAD-BJP regime, Badal said, adding that "no one would be ever allowed to disturb the hard earned peace in the state."

The peace has helped in ushering in a new era of unprecedented development in the state, he said.

Due to all these factors, Punjab has today figured amongst the top three most preferred investment destinations of the country as per the report of the Reserve Bank of India, the Chief Minister said.

Badal attacked the Union government saying its "wrong" policies has led to problems like corruption, unemployment and illiteracy in the country.

Due to the ill-conceived economic policies of the Centre, the country's prestige across the globe has suffered adversely, the chief minister said.
