: Advocates here abstained from court proceedings for a day today inprotest against the recommendations of the Law Commission to effect sweeping reforms for tightening conduct rules for practising advocates.
Functioning of the courts was hit by the boycott, a spokesman of the Bar Association said.
He also said that the advocates were up in arms against the report of the Law Commission relating to regulatory mechanism for the legal profession.

They also objected to proposals for constitution of a disciplinary committee with inclusion of eminent persons from fields other than legal profession and also a few other proposals made by the Law Commission.
