Police have arrested two persons, including an LLB student, for their alleged involvement in a number of cases of robbery and carjacking in different parts of the national capital.

Delhi Police's crime branch arrested the duo -- Joginder (26) and Sunil Gulia (21) -- from a flat in Bakkarwala area yesterday. Both the accused were residents of Haryana and Sunil was doing his LLB from a Ghaziabad law college.

Police claimed that they were part of notorious criminal Vikas Lagarpuria's gang and their arrest had helped crack seven cases of robbery, two cases of carjacking and a case of motor vehicle theft in the capital.

Police said with their arrest, they have also averted a murder as Sunil was planning to kill his cousin, Sumit, over property dispute.

"Police got information that two members of the gang were living in a rented flat in Bakkarwala. Accordingly, a raid was conducted and they were arrested. They have confessed to their involvement in a number of cases," a senior police officer said, adding that they were being further interrogated about hideouts of other gang members.
