Judicial work was affected in the courts in Rajasthan after lawyers boycotted them and joined nation-wide strike in protest against proposed amendments in the Advocates Act.

"Close to 80,000 lawyers in the state were on the strike today against the proposed amendments to Advocates (Amendments) Bill, which is anti-advocate," Vice President of the Rajasthan Bar Association, Rajendra Singh Raghav said.

He said that the work in all the courts were affected due to the one-day strike called by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

The BCI, the apex body of lawyers, had given a call for the strike across the country, saying the recommendations in the Bill were against their interests.
