Lawyer stabbed by brother-in-law in court premises

A lawyer was allegedly stabbed by his brother-in-law in the family court premises here today.

Police Raman was stabbed by Saravanan, after a wordy duel, when he wanted to meet his child at the court premises where his divorce case was pending.

Raman had married Bhagya Lakshmi, sister of Saravanan, and had a one-year-old child. The couple decided to separately due to differences and had applied for Divorce.

When the case came up for hearing, the advocate wanted to meet his child, triggering a wordy duel between him and his brother-in-law.

Saravanan pulled out a knife and stabbed Raman, who has been admitted to a hospital with mild injuries.
 

Police said they were investigating about the incident.
