A group of lawyers allegedly assaulted an Additional City Magistrate (ACM) and three Provincial Civil Services officials, and ransacked the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office here, police said today.

Following the incident PCS officers stalled all revenue and land related works while lawyers announced they would not attend local courts.

The officers have registered a case against two advocates, including an office-bearer of the Lucknow Bar Association, in the incident which took place yesterday, they said.

An FIR was lodged against Additional District Magistrate (ADM)-Finance Nidhi Srivastava, ADM-West Jai Shankar Dubey and ACM 3 Anil Kumar Singh on the complaint of the lawyers, but was later expunged, police said.

Meanwhile, the PCS Officers Association today announced that more than 1,100 officers will go on strike from Monday if the accused are not arrested immediately.

"Today, in a meeting of the PCS Officers Association it was resolved that officers will be on strike from Monday if the accused are not arrested," association general secretary Pawan Gangwar said here.

The association has also resolved to seek action against the SSP Lucknow Manjil Saini for police inaction in this connection, Gangwar said.
