The decision to suspend the construction work was taken after perusal of the report of the IIT-Roorkee that said no fresh construction would take place till the rainy season was over, the Society said in a release.
The actual construction work would be resumed only after fresh report from geologists.
The landslides have endangered the heritage Oberoi Clarke's Hotel here.
Its management had ordered closure of the hotel three days ago and shifted all the guests after the report submitted by their structural engineers. The hotel would remain closed till the end of the rainy season, a spokesman of the group said.
