Judicial work across 12 districts of western Uttar Pradesh today came to a standstill as lawyers boycotted courts to demand setting up of a bench of Allahabad High Court in the region.
The call for boycott of courts was given by the action committee of these districts, the committee's Spokesman Rajender Sharma, also the president of Muzaffarnagar district bar association said.
Litigants faced inconvenience as judicial work in the districts was adversely affected due to the strike.

The lawyers of western districts of the state have long been demanding setting up of a bench of the Allahabad High Court in the region in view of the inconvenience faced by litigants, Sharma said.
