Lawyers of Oudh Bar Association to resume work from tomorrow

Lawyers of Oudh Bar Association, will resume work from tomorrow after abstaining from work since February 10 protesting the alleged murder of an advocate and subsequent lathicharge by police on agitating legal practitioners.

The matter related to the February 10 incident here, was heard before a seven-judge bench of the High Court headed by Chief Justice Dr D Y Chandrachud at Allahabad, senior vice president of OBA, G C Verma said.

General Secretary of the Association R D Shahi appeared along with other counsels for OBA, he said.

"We have given a statement before the bench that the lawyers of OBA will resume work from tomorrow," Verma said.
 

Lawyers of the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench went on the rampage on February 10, torching a state transport bus and vandalised some vehicles after the body of 40-year-old advocate Sharavan Kumar Verma bearing injury marks was found in the state capital the day before.

Following this, OBA had passed a resolution asking lawyers to abstain from court work till February 18.
