Lawyers of the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court and lower courts today abstained from duty here to protest the annexe construction of the district court building adjacent to the century-old Pipliyahana Lake.
"Around 10,000 advocates abstained from work against the proposed annexe construction of the district court building on MG Road," Indore High Court Bar Association secretary Anil Ojha said.
The construction of the new building will affect the water body and ground water levels around the lake.
The place is also not suitable for the lawyers and their clients, he said.
