Lawyers should avoid 'unnecessary strikes': Justice Bhosale

The Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale, has said that the lawyers should avoid going on "unnecessary strikes".

More than 60 lakh cases are pending in the district courts in Uttar Pradesh and about two lakh cases are pending in the high court, he said at a district bar association programme here last evening.

The chief justice asked the lawyers to avoid the "unnecessary strikes" and try for early disposal of the pending cases.

Asserting that there is a need to resolve more cases through mediation, Justice Bhosale said.

He also asked the judicial officers to work hard to clear the pending cases in the courts of the state and asked them to increase the confidence of the litigants on the judiciary by providing speedy justice.
