Lawyers stay away from courts in Mandi

Lawyers here today boycotted courts to protest the Himachal Pradesh High Court's decision to hold circuit courts in various sub-divisions in the state.

The lawyers, affiliated to the Mandi Bar Association, assembled here and chanted slogans against the decision.

The members of the Mandi Bar Association stayed away from courts to protest what they said the recent decision of the High Court directing District and Session Judges to hold circuit courts in various sub-divisions.

Protesting the decision, the lawyers said it was not feasible for them to attend circuit courts at sub-divisional level.

The District Bar Association passed a resolution urging the concerned authorities to put the decision on hold.
