India today assured Bangladesh that it will move a constitution amendment bill in Parliament for implementing the land boundary agreement with the neighbouring country.
This was conveyed by the Indian delegation to a visiting team of Bangladeshi officials during the meeting of the Joint Working Group of the two countries.
The findings of the JWG meeting will be placed before the India-Bangladesh Home Secretary level meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow.

While Bangladesh Parliament has already approved the land boundary deal, India needs to introduce a constitute amendment bill because its implementation involves territory swap.
The issues of coordinated border management, trafficking of drugs and women and children and illegal movement also came up for discussion at Joint Working Group meeting.

Implementation of Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, Transfer of Sentenced Persons, Agreement on Combating Organised Crime and Illegal Drug Trafficking and handing over of United Liberation Front of Assam leader Anup Chetia, who has been in Bangladesh jail for over a decade and a half, are also expected to be discussed in tomorrow's meeting.
