Mussoorie's Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) has invited 'Super 30' founder and mathematician Anand Kumar to deliver a lecture on 'Equity in Education' before a batch of IAS trainees on May 8.
Headed by Kumar, the Patna-based 'Super 30' is a pioneering initiative that has helped children from the underprivileged sections of the society to make it to premiere Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), a communique from the academy said.
So far, over 400 'Super 30' students -- many from the poorest sections of the society and indifferent schooling -- mentored by Anand and looked after by his family have made it to the IITs.
Kumar has been invited in view of his vast experience and contribution to the education of the underprivileged which proves education is not the preserve of a select few, the communique said.
