In a statement here, LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan said the state government had cut the kerosene quota to the poor people, especially fishermen who were totally dependent on the fuel, following the Centre's decision "to cut kerosene quota for states."
The state government had decided not to provide kerosene to families having gas connections. The step was being taken at a time when prices of cooking gas had increased and load shedding had been introduced in the state.
