Lead edges up on scattered demand

Lead prices inched up by Re one per kg at the non-ferrous market today due to mild demand from consuming industries.

However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at the last levels.

Traders said some demand from consuming industries mainly led to the rise in lead prices.

In the national capital, lead ingot and lead imported were higher by Re 1 each at Rs 82 and Rs 88 per kg respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 96-102, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 834-839, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 360, chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 82, lead imported Rs 88, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
