Lead prices were trading up by 0.43 per cent to Rs 151.20 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up positions supported by rising demand from battery-makers.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February was up 65 paise, or 0.43 per cent, at Rs 151.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 931 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in March traded up by 55 paise, or 0.36 per cent, at Rs 151.65 per kg in 319 lots.

According to marketmen, rising demand from battery makers at domestic spot markets helped lead futures trade higher.
