Lead prices traded lower by 0.44 per cent to Rs 135.30 per kg in futures trading today as participants trimmed positions, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand from battery-makers.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July shed 60 paise, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 135.30 per kg in a business turnover of 6 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June edged down by 40 paise, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 134.80 per kg in 442 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in lead futures to offloading of positions by traders on the back of subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
